Our research integrates engineering biology, AI and bioprocess systems engineering to design biological pathways and optimise biotechnology for sustainable food and target molecules. My lab researches waste-to-microbial protein fermentation, microbiome and retrobiosynthesis, and hybrid AI-based optimisation of bioprocesses. We also develop interpretable AI tools for toxicity and sustainability prediction, advancing safe-by-design biomanufacturing and engineering biology for health applications.
